WHAT HAS CHANGED

  • The NWS issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Fulton County this morning in addition to several other metro Atlanta counties.
  • They also issued a Winter Storm Warning for a large area of Northeast Georgia that does include Gwinnett, Forsyth, and Hall Counties.
  • While it has not been released yet, we’re anticipating the NWS add Fulton County and a few other metro counties into this Winter Storm Warning area.

  • In some models, they are showing trace to no snow while others suggest higher amounts.
  • The NWS did decrease the official snow forecast for Atlanta from 1.2” to .9” but increased the reasonable worst-case scenario from 2” to 4”.

WEEKEND OPERATIONS/EVENTS

Several large events are scheduled this weekend as well as normal campus operations mid-semester.  Event managers should continue working with us on the latest forecast information to make decisions about their events.  Unit leadership should plan for some staff unavailability over the weekend due to travel issues.  We are discussing with our leadership today on calling for Modified Operations.
