What departments are required to complete a continuity plan?

The Office of Emergency Management in consultation with Georgia Tech leadership publishes a list of units that must develop and maintain a continuity plan.

My unit should have a continuity plan, but it is not on the published list.  How do I get it added?

First, determine if your parent organization is included on the list of units and work with that Continuity Plan Manager to ensure that your unit’s critical functions are comprehensively covered.  Discuss the situation with the Continuity Plan Owner and the Continuity Plan Manager to determine whether a separate plan is appropriate.  With their support, consult OEM at oem@gatech.edu to discuss creating a separate plan.

My unit is required to have continuity plan based on the published list, but my unit has few critical functions.  How can I get my unit removed from the requirement?

This will largely be determined based upon the complexity of the parent organization’s plan and whether the parent organization can consume the critical functions of the child unit.  The Continuity Plan Manager and Continuity Plan Owner of the parent unit should be consulted first before contacting OEM at oem@gatech.edu

What is a critical function?
