Atlanta Watershed is closing the intersection of 10th Street & Hemphill Ave for critical pipe repair work starting Monday, March 16th for at least 4 weeks. Vehicular traffic will not be able to enter or leave campus via Hemphill Ave. In addition, vehicles will not be able to travel from Northside Dr. to State St. via 10th St., and vice versa. Atlanta Watershed has said they DO NOT expect us to lose water during this work.

IMPACTS:

  • Increased Traffic throughout Campus and Midtown
  • Changes to Bus Routes
  • Vehicular and Pedestrian Detours

Maps and additional campus operational information can be viewed at gatech.edu/emergency.  Please continue to check this link for incident updates as this is a fluid event. Be prepared for sudden changes to traffic patterns depending on campus activities, etc.

We will do our best to mitigate campus disruptions and will pass along information via the link above as we receive it. Again, this is a city project, and despite our concerns, we have no control over the road closure or timing.
