Atlanta Area Climate
The Atlanta region experiences great weather throughout the year, but from time to time the weather can be hazardous. Severe weather threats (tornadoes, large hail, high winds) pick up near the start of the year, peaking in mid Spring. Afternoon thunderstorms are common throughout the summer months, with lightning being the greatest hazard. Winter weather impacts are generally limited to January-March, although Atlanta has seen some winter storms as early as November.
